In Ramon Llull's oeuvre, besides theological, philosophical, or scientific works intended for a moderately educated public, there are others adressed to readers with significant educational deficiencies. The Doctrina Pueril, written between 1274 and 1276, belongs to this second group of texts, in which Llull sought above all to educate those sectors of society that had difficulty in accessing specific types of knowledge: that is, both general knowledge and, above all, knowledge having to do with people's basic religious and catachetical education.
